I wonder who bought these. I have some experience in defense contracting and these things are ridiculous. That said, when you give people someone else’s money, they tend to spend it in a really stupid fashion.

I’m not sure they’ve sold any yet but they are clearly chomping at the bit to do so. Now that Fiat is (soon to be) making a diesel version they have a better chance of doing so since as you know everything in the military has to run on diesel. They say as a troop carrier they will carry 8 soldiers. Two in the front seats and two rows of three behind. How scary is that for those poor GIs?

JP8 and diesel are sometimes interchangeable. Mostly just because you don’t give any fucks when driving a military vehicle. Once refueled an MTVR with regular gas station diesel and achieved 80 mph vs struggling for 60 with JP8. 80mph is terrifying when you are in one of these:
